Not only is it time consuming, but it is often coupled with moving to a new environment and quite possibly involves understanding how you’ll fit in with a new culture, new job, and additional emotional stressors.
There are typically significant financial considerations, and often the impact on your family and social network is of concern, too. You want your property manager to make your transition strategy as seamless and convenient as possible. We are here to help you every step of the way and ensure the transition for you and your home goes smoothly.
Prior to your packout, we recommend you do the following:
- Change insurance from a homeowner policy to a landlord policy.
- Add Chambers Theory to your utility accounts.
- Only cancel cable and internet. Leave electric, gas, and water on.
- Change your address on any saved accounts.
- Coordinate a professional cleaning of your home before tenant turnover.
- Schedule your final walkthrough with your Client Care property manager.

Evacuation Situations
We want you protected for the unexpected, which is why every lease of ours has a Landlord Transfer Clause. This clause protects you in the event you are prematurely discharged or transferred back to the area before your lease expires.
All you have to do is provide 60 days’ written notice and a copy of your transfer orders to your tenant. While you have unique responsibilities that take you around the globe, your home will be ready for you when you need it. We are always expecting the unexpected and ready to serve you.
